The politicos tell me that the weekend before the election is when the vast majority of non-absentee voters make up their minds about whom to vote for, and I have no reason to doubt them.
Of course, we are coming out on Election Day, so not putting a voters’ guide in the November 7 edition seems irresponsible to me. (If nothing else, I know a fair number of people who make their final decisions on Election Day.)
That said, for those making up their minds this weekend, check out the Hesperia Star site. We’re putting up voters’ guides online in time for weekend decision-making and I’ve added a few modest (circa 1999) HTML bells and whistles to the proceedings.
The city council and school board voters guides are up now, and I’m working on the park board one next. And keep an eye on the Daily Press this weekend for more campaign coverage, including an interview with the elusive Elena Campos.
Well, the experiment was an interesting one: My perennial fever spiked and Snap, Crackle and Pop in my joints went from noisy tenants to holding raucous house parties. I also had sharp pain in my left foot, knee and wrist and, most notably, experienced a great deal of stiffness in my left hand. (Last year, my left hand was basically a useless flipper in the mornings prior to going on this regimen of pills.)
So the sarcoidosis is still here.
Well, the new version of “Ladylike” with Dave Navarro is out at last, but I have to think that whoever’s managing Storm Large’s digital career can’t seem to master iTunes, since it’s essentially impossible to find either version of the song without a direct link (no, searching doesn’t work, perversely).
I feel like a small helpless European country. Late last night, without warning, my iTunes software switched me over to the German iTunes store without me doing anything. (Switching back just required reentering my account information, at which time I was forcibly pushed back to the US store.)
Bizarre.
