Fire in Hesperia

I was only out at the fire a few hours, and my throat is still hurting and my eyes still burning. (Not to mention every inch of me smells like a campfire.) I can’t imagine how career firefighters are able to handle much more prolonged exposure to smoke and fire on a regular basis.

I had been watching the fires out your way this weekend and hoped you and your family were OK. Glad to see that it’s not that close to you.

Yes, but fortunately, I was doing my best to get as close to the fire as possible on Saturday until the evacuation order came and the cops chased me out.
My car still reeks of smoke.
