It’s not exactly green here in the High Desert, but we’ve had a somewhat wet winter, and as a result, there are patches of greenery mixed in with all of the sand and dust that normally constitutes our back yard. This was taken early this morning.

James climbing onto his toy to look at the TV

George Mallory would understand.

James’ ongoing cognitive leap continued yesterday with him climbing onto the most annoying toy in the universe (note the duct tape required to keep the legs on a toy he can’t do without, much to my chagrin) to get at the TV (perhaps to stop Rachel Coleman from singing again).

He later repeated this operation with a sock in his mouth. Why a sock in his mouth? No idea; Mallory never mentioned that part.

The only Liz Phair album one is apparently allowed to have as their favorite is “Exile in Guyville,” but for me, it’s 1998’s “whitechocolatespaceegg,” with its trippy soundscapes and frank talk about more adult relationships. This song, the big single off the album, is one of my favorite tracks.

I am scheduled to appear on the Lockridge Report on Road Dog Trucking Radio, Sirius channel 147, to talk about the proposed changes to trucking parking ordinances here in Hesperia.

I am scheduled to talk about the proposed changes during the 11 a.m. hour (PST).
