Books read, 2011
This seems like a paltry list to some (like a teacher I know who seems to read this many a month), but this marks the most books that I’ve read since James was born in 2007. Granted, several books on this list are real softballs. The goal is to read more still in 2012.

- July 4: Three Days to Never by Tim Powers
- July 25: Star Island by Carl Hiaasen
- Aug. 19: Rolling Thunder by John Varley
- Sept. 4: Flush by Carl Hiaasen
- Sept. 17: A Hat Full of Sky: The Continuing Adventures of Tiffany Aching and the Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett
- Nov. 1: Wintersmith (Discworld) by Terry Pratchett
- Dec. 24: The Grammar Devotional: Daily Tips for Successful Writing from Grammar Girl (TM) (Quick & Dirty Tips) by Mignon Fogarty

I read a lot of books in the first six months of Heloise’s life because I had to do something while nursing. (Yay Kindle, which was easy to use one handed.) Since then, embarrassingly few not work related.

I’m working on I Shall Wear Midnight right now, and Snuff is probably next.
I’m already pre-depressed about the knowledge that, very soon, there won’t be any new Discworld novels coming, although I wouldn’t put it past him to have a few surprises socked away for after he’s gone.
