The Hesperia Star blog and podcast
Well, I’ve been alluding to it forever, but the Hesperia Star Web site has been joined by a new blog (currently located at Blogger) and a podcast.
We’ve been working on the podcast since December and Stephan Wingert, our publisher, first floated the idea of going to a blog-style format for the Star’s online presence in January and asked that we put together a proof-of-concept blog.
Both the blog and podcast are in their earliest stages right now, and I suspect Peter and I will tweak them both a great deal over the next few months, but both have the potential to let us do lots of new things, which few other newspapers are doing, which is exciting in itself.

The blog and especially the podcast are awesome. As an avid fan of the Hesperia Star it was interesting to hear the difference in the tones of your voice when talking about an article and reading it. For example, Peter’s opinion piece on crime in the paper came off as very angry, yet he sounds almost apologetic and timid in the podcast. I was expecting kind of a John and Ken kind of rant. Maybe the powers that be scolded him for saying something negative about Hesperia. Kind of like when he semi-apologized for writing about Tad Honeycutt and the California Charter Academy. You guys should expose that corruption shit and make a name for yourselves. You could be the next Woodword and Bernstein of San Berdo.
